GAIAM - Beautiful Yoga Products

As you will soon find out, I absolutely LOVE Bikram yoga. (Post to come end of June/Beginning of July when I get home and start practicing again). In the mean time I wanted to recommend some yoga products that I received as a gift. A friend of mine had heard me raving about Bikram and that I was practicing most days. I had also joked that the only down side was the smelly mats! How thoughtful it was, months later, that she kept this in mind when buying me a birthday present!

GAIAM make the most beautiful yoga mats - some plain and others in beautiful prints such as the Tree of Life mat which is just £14.99. The company has a focus on creating healthy or natural alternatives to conventional products. The 'GAIAM lifestyle' revolves around the concepts of individual health and sustainability of the earth's resources.

I also was given a very handy yoga bag - the one inconvenience of yoga mats is that they tend not to fit in a regular bag, leaving you with only one hand for your phone, car keys and any other modern day necessity! The bag is priced at a very reasonable £18.99 and also features the Tree of Life pattern in lovely moss green stitching and is large enough to fit a towel, water bottle and any other essentials you may need. It fastens with a single popper but has two zip pockets to prevent smaller items from falling out (perfect for phone, keys, jewellery while you are in the class etc).

You can buy these products and many more on the GAIAM website where you can also find out about different yoga practises and keep up to date with the company's news.

And the best part is that not only do you no longer have to put up with a stinky communal mat (particularly stinky in hot or Bikram yoga studios where there is a LOT of sweating) but you definitely look the part turning up with this kit without a hefty price tag...now to conquer the poses....
